Helpful links to useful free stuff

September 8, 2008

Broke Grad Student’s post about free online and software services looks to be mighty useful:

I particularly like having free photo editing options like Picasa, and SplashUP because I’m not thrilled about the idea of paying $300 for Photoshop. I viewed images on Picasa for the first time last month when BF posted the wedding photos and I was really impressed.

While learning InDesign and Photoshop could be terribly useful for my profession, I surely don’t need it for tooling around with photos for this blog and to share with friends.

There are quite a few others, you should mosey on over and give it a look!

I hate to pay for software…luckily, I’m currently a student, so I get inexpensive software right now.

savingdiva: Me too! I’m hoping to use free software for a long time yet. Especially since a new laptop has been on my mind.

  3. Thanks for sharing my post about free software and online resources.

I’m also a big fan of Picasa for quicky, easy, and free photo editing. However, I still rely on Photoshop for the heavy lifting, but luckily, I have access to Photoshop at work.

broke grad student: happy to do it! Thanks for putting all those links together. With a design student buddy, I should be able to get Photoshop on my next lappy for free. Yay!
