Amanda is right – don’t let the stats keep you from doing something better for yourself, use them as warnings or guidelines on what to beat. I sent an email to a dear friend telling her that she was NOT going to be one of the sad statistics of her profession, recently and now we have plans for making sure she won’t be.

The thing about the sponges creeps me out. If there’s no way to keep them clean I guess we should get rid of them, but they sure do make cleaning easier. What about dishcloths: Should they be laundered daily, and can they ever be clean enough?
I don’t want to be germ-phobic, but I also don’t want to be sick or cause someone else to be sick. Sometimes I wish I could remain blissfully ignorant of the research of the day.
