Insane Energy Bill: 130% increase to SCE

Holy mackeral. Our damages from the breathtaking heat waves of July have finally been tallied. We used the a/c at night only, for a few hours, if that, to allow us to sleep. And we didn’t even use it every night, at least not if the night air was cool enough.
July 11-August 09: $236.94

Needless to say, this is one of the two bills I pay each month, aside from the rent. This and the water bill.
Wow! How big is your place?
Our electric bill was the highest its ever been at $100!! We too mostly just use the air at night. Is your place huge? We live in a 2/2 thats around 900 square feet.
Looks like my electric bill in January here in upstate NY in a drafty top floor apartment (about 600 sq ft) where heating is electric.
Daniel&TT: I think we’ve got about 1500 square feet? I’m not positive, it’s a 3bd, 1&1/2 bath on the smaller side.
Moom: Wow, that’s a regular winter bill?
