In 1967, a Black Man and a White Woman Bought a Home. American Politics Would Never Be the Same.
What happened to the Bailey family in the Detroit suburb of Warren became a flashpoint in the national battle over integration. White racists across all political parties are despicable. Reading about the white women who went after Pam Bailey, a seven year old!!, made my blood boil. Bad enough that they could usually expect institutional racism to back them up, that they had zero shame in going after the Baileys directly like this…. I really hope both Ruby and Pam Bailey have peace in their lives now.
How Charles Dickens’s Screw-Up Chicago Brother Turned the Second City Against Boz. Another old article, from 2011, but I never knew Charles Dickens had a brother.
