Just a little (link) love: Ragnorak soundtrack edition

August 22, 2019

Just a little link loveA cool cat coloring book that Maggie has been working on. My friend has confirmed that the inside is awesome too.

A few things I made: Word Nerd, Body, what are you doing?, Pug weekly planner, Betrothed: a wedding planner.

I’ve always been keenly aware that we have a terrible approach to childcare (and families and parents and and and) in this country.

I thought Meg had published this under her byline but I guess I missed that Anonymous byline! I Make Twice As Much As My Husband. I absolutely aspire to make twice as much, nay, thrice as much, as my husband makes (based on his salary plus the value of his fringe benefits) right now.

If I’m doing this right, the Capacity Factor of our guest bedroom ranges from 12-18% depending on the year. On average, we might host 50 nights a year. The over/under depends on more random visitors, we host at minimum 36 nights a year. The Price Ratio is 6%.

Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?

  1. Did you make all those things? They look rad. I am contemplating the pug planner.

Thanks again for including me in your link love post, friend. Twice in a couple weeks: I’m blushing over here.

I did make those! Thanks for considering, feel free to send me any special requests as I like learning how to do these better!

  2. Good job on calculating the capacity factor for your guest bedroom! Glad to see people doing the math!

That’s cool that your guest room is used so much! Ours is (supposedly) a guest room and office combo, but routinely becomes an “items we don’t want to see, but also don’t want to deal with” room when we have long stretches between guests. Which leaves the kitchen table for an “office”. Reminder to self, sell or store baby items….

We host fewer nights than you per year – probably just 2-3 weeks a year total, and that is with the increase due to creating a grandchild. (But not including the many Saturdays my dad spent when he was in the bay area earlier this year, so I guess we’re doing extra well this year.)

What cool things you have made!!! Exciting!
