Little luxuries: sick at home
February 10, 2009
Status: Miserable
But am seriously glad I’d the luxury of deciding at 6:30 am that, no, the hour+ long train ride to sit at my desk and be miserable, possibly a little productive and a whole lot irked was just not worth it. With plenty of sick hours on my account, there’s no financial reason to be torturing myself.
And thank heavens for my FSA and that stop at the CVS over the weekend: I picked up two boxes of Nyquil/Dayquil combo packs which I’ve already gone through half of, and will be set for a few more days.
I only wish that I were coherent enough to use this time to get better and apply for more jobs. Drat. No multitasking for me today.
oh, dear, i’m sorry you feel so badly. you’ve been stressed out recently, so maybe this is your body’s way of telling you to stop for a minute. no multi-tasking, no worrying, just lots of sleep and fluids for you! feel better soon!
I hope you feel better soon.
And I love FSA, those OTC medications are just painful to spend “real money” on. They are almost always worth it, but seem so expensive when you are already sick and grumpy!
Get well!
Get well, but not so quickly that you don’t get to enjoy at least a little of your time at home.
Get better hon, take care of yourself. It’s cold and miserable out, enjoy the day at home.
Telepathically sending you some virtual chicken soup! Feel better soon!
Three thousand miles away, I’m under the weather, too. But my desk is right here at home, so I can’t even “call in sick.”
Eeek…weren’t you sick a few months ago? Those damn people at work with kids who are constantly bringing home germs, and then who spread it to us! I hope you feel better soon!
Thank you all for your well wishes, I’m finally a bit more coherent today. Might actually be functional tomorrow.
sense: Welcome back!
SP: You’re too right. AND CVS had the meds on sale for 10/box, with a $2 ECB back that I used on my refill of Tylenol (4 bucks off, yay!)
frugalCPA: Good idea, if I can be half better today, and enjoy the afternoon, so much the better. š
Miss M: Bluh, I guess it’s better to be sick when it’s cold than when it’s hot. And I’m avoiding the grossness outside. Not bad.
sabrina: So sorry you’re not well either, hope you’re taking a break from your desk even if you can’t call out.
LA Daze: I’m positive I was, I just can’t remember when, exactly. I know Thanksgiving was awful, and maybe some time in between?
