Where in the world have you been?
October 16, 2010
This was fun until I realized 1) I can’t really remember where I’ve been anymore, and 2) I really haven’t explored the States very much.Ā
visited 13 states (26%)

Fabulously Broke, Asian Pear, Financial Catastrophizer and Shelley all had far more interesting maps on their blogs.

I’m taking at least several months’ break from taking days off to hoard vacation days and will only hit the road again for business, but it’s fun to dream in the meantime.
What’s on your list?
My belated thanks …..
to Tom Drake for hosting this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance and including my post How will you earn that raise?
Cool. I did some:

My next new country will be South Korea, I think.
I refuse to do my own, chiefly because I’ve only been to three counties (4 if you count a trip when I was a wee thing which I don’t remember).
If I offer you a cookie, will you come and visit Toronto? š
Hi there. Thanks for the ‘shout’ (I believe it’s called?). I live in a suburb of Newcaste-upon-Tyne, in the NE of England. I can get to London by train in about 3-3 1/2 hours. England is a small country, but it somehow takes a long time to get anywhere. We’re closer to Edinburgh – about an hour or so by train and perhaps a 2 hour drive. Bill usually takes the scenic back roads, so I’ve no idea how long the most direct route would be.
Funny Greece is high upon your list. We’ve just returned from there and I’ll be sharing pictures and such from our cheap hols.
I’ve lived in 8 states and probably been to the majority of them minus the NE.
I’ve been to: Italy, Spain, England, Scotland, Ireland, Greece,Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Argentina, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and touched soil in Brazil and Colombia.
Next: Honduras, Hong Kong, Japan. Portugal, Egypt. Those are likely to happen.
I’d like to visit every state in the U.S. before venturing outside the U.S. There’s just so much to see and do here! Plus, traveling within our borders is probably less expensive than traveling to another continent!
Internationally, I’d like to see Paris, Italy, Rome, London, Athens, Barcelona, Germany, Croatia, Australia, Africa, China, Japan… My list could go on forever! It’s too bad we only have 100 years (and that’s an optimistic number) to see everything there is to see!
Woohoo! Love this. I’ve done these before but never put them on my blog… great idea. And YAY travel š
So many places!! I’ve done a decent amount of international travel (well… mostly EUrope haha), but I really want to visit more US cities. I’ve never been to the northwest – would love to see Seattle and Portland.
This link’s pretty cool. I want to do a road trip on PCH or Interstate 5 next time I’m in California for an extended period of time. For my honeymoon some day, my fiance and I would like to do a tour of Southeast Asia.
Right now: Cambodia, Prague, Antarctica and Spain.
Not as bad list (traveled to as well as your wish list). I’ve been to 8 countries and 40 states (and I don’t even live in the US).
My wish list is long but includes the following:
Japan
Italy
France (again)
china
New Zealand
Argentina
The remaining US states
and of course many many more.
Side question: I sent you an email and never heard back. Did you receive it? Please let me know. Thanks!
I ought to make a state map. With like 9 states.
I am with AP. I’ll offer you two cookies to come visit us in Toronto in 2011 š
@mOOm: Very cool!
@eemusings: I’d love to see your Wish Map, then.
@AP& FB: three cookies? Hmmm…My 3 weeks of vacation may already be spoken for in 2011 but I’ve raised the question with PiC. š
@Shelley: You’re welcome! I asked b/c I might be nearabouts your neck of the woods, but I wasn’t certain.
@Karen: Definitely don’t do Egypt alone. My friends went there and the culture is tough on solo female travelers to avoid being preyed on by certain elements and they are everywhere.
@Red: I’d love to do both, there’s so much food to eat! š
@MoneyMaus: <3 travel. If it were only a bit cheaper and easier ...
@Carolyn: I’m seeing a trend here. Coordinate w/eemusings, perhaps, do a PF blogger tour .. š
@Kathleen: PCH is MUCH better than the 5.
@Jenna: That’s a nice variety! And I didn’t get your email, would you mind resending?
@Matt: Holy mackeral, how did you hit so many states?
