Retail Therapy: what was I thinking??

June 2, 2008

I got off lightly, but oy, I should know better than to take girlfriends to the mall for distraction. I mean, really. She “didn’t want to talk about it,” so she ended up buying shoes, twelve shirts and two pairs of crop pants. Spent juuust under $200. I have to admit, they were all very cute and work-worthy. If we were the same size, I’d borrow any of the stuff she bought.

I, on the other hand, having just said that I couldn’t justify buying any more shoes, found a pair of metallic multi-colored strappy shoes that will go with at least two dresses that I love to wear, but haven’t matched with any shoes. They’ll definitely go with a few other dresses I can think of as well, like all my black or green dresses. In my meager defense, I will say that they were originally $20, and were 50% off, so they were only ten dollars. I submit, my ten dollar shoes:

And the dresses I think will work with these shoes:

I did see some other shoes that were really cute, that were all gold, but I think this pair will be most flexible.

I swear, no more shopping!

  1. Karen says:

You did good! Especially since they were only $10.

  2. The purple dress is so pretty. Where’d you buy that one? Your arms are so perfectly toned!

  3. Those colours in the shoe are actually neutral metallics šŸ™‚

So they’re VERY versatile, which means you can wear them with almost any colour, since they have (if my eyes don’t fail me), 3 colours in them

    What a great buy!!!!!

oh and I LOVE that gold dress on the left.. v. hot.

  4. ~karen~ That was definitely the selling point… literally! šŸ™‚

~sfordinarygirl~ I know, isn’t it? I wish I could take better pictures of it, the colors are really luscious and breathtaking. That’s what sold me, actually. The dress was a bit more expensive than I would normally pay, especially at Forever 21 where I average $18/dress, but it was such an unusual find that I paid the $30ish bucks because I could NOT say no to it.
Thanks, I’ve been trying to work out a bit, and I was holding them a mite awkwardly so I guess it comes off as more toned šŸ™‚
I like good arms, though, so I’m workin’!
~FB~ Your eyes don’t fail you, but I AM a poor photographer. A couple of those braids are actually much darker than they appear. Other than that, the other colors come through pretty well.

I LOVE that gold dress, too, it actually fits me quite nicely if I say so myself šŸ˜‰ It was another Forever 21 deal, and the gold brocade-like fabric makes it very versatile.
