30 mostly free ways to say I love you
May 25, 2016
I caught this question on Twitter and loved it. Without saying those three words, how do you tell your loved ones that they’re loved?
Bonus points if it’s free! Well, ok, most of mine are free in the sense they don’t cost money but they cost time and often expertise.

Terrific post. Jon is excellent about getting up in the morning to make me coffee even though he’d rather sleep in. He even brings me a cup.
He also makes sure the maintenance on the house and cars happen.
Sometimes I’m not sure what I do. I’m a big present buyer. I take Little Bit out for a bit when he needs a break and make sure I pick up the things he likes at the grocery store.

Aww that’s sweet!
My love language is acts of service. So everything from handling the laundry to cleaning the dang car that I drive 1x out of every 1000 times. Also food is love. I’m not a good cook though so I’ll probably nag you to eat and make your lunch for work rather than actually cook for you!
Yes, food and help!

I love love languages! My love language is gifts, H’s is touch and I think we have a mutual acts of service. For instance, I cook him dinner and serve him a plate because I want him to be fed. He will take out the garbage so I’m not grouchy. We will both pick up souvenirs if we travel without the other one and we get and give massages and snuggles. It’s a process to find the language but once you understand you are in.
Yay for having both mutual and separate love languages! I like having a little overlap and a little different, it makes for a nice mix. It’s so worth learning your own and that of the people you care for!
My mother once remarked that my father, who was so unsentimental he was anti-sentimental, never said he loved her in so many words, but that he showed her, in all the things he did.

I’m pretty bad at the sentimental romance myself, so I’m really glad that PiC doesn’t take it to mean I don’t love him.
