Honestly I had nothing here because it was a hell of a week that kicked me in the face and sinuses, repeatedly.

We survived. There’s that.

Honestly I didn’t even know Watson of Watson & Crick was still alive, less so what an odious human he became later in life (though I am singularly unsurprised, having encountered many many people in academia who believe they too are a master of the universe): James Watson, dead at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers (STAT senior science writer Sharon Begley wrote this remembrance of James Watson before she herself died in 2021.)
