Bye bye, $2,355.49 and hello Title!

January 15, 2009

I think *gulp* I’m gonna do it. Without the title in hand, it’s a bit harder to sell the truck because potential buyers don’t want to wait 7-10 days to complete the paperwork and sale. So I’m going to send my payoff to Toyota. Yipes!

This is half my expense cushion! But it shouldn’t make a real difference; I’d have to pay it over the next six months, regardless of my employment status.

It makes sense if it eases the sale process, I just have cold (spending) feet!

Edit: Did it. Just did it. Whew!

  1. I hope you sell that truck fast! Just out of curiousity, how is your brother getting around?

Writing those big checks is tough, my final car payment was over $6000. I had the money saved so it wasn’t a big deal, but that big amount in my savings account was a kind of security blanket that I had to let go. I take it you’ll get the money back when the truck sells?

  4. Hope that makes you feel some relief!

I have a similar struggle with my c.c. debt. I want to wait until the last minute to pay it since it’s 0%. That way I can accrue a little more interest and I like seeing the money in my account.

Miss M: Yes, the car sale will at least cover the amount I just paid out, and then some. YAY!

notesfromthefrugaltrenches: As soon as the truck is out of my hair, the insurance will be reduced and no more payments. Very excited.

Karen: Me too! I love 0% interest.

It’s just like that Expedia commercial that is on TV where they train the girl to push the mouse to accept the deal.

It sounds like a good move on your part. šŸ™‚
