Good Things Friday (375) and Link Love

1. Sorry, I’m hard-pressed to think of anything good this week TBH. I guess it’s a small comfort that the team is sticking together like glue to navigate the bullshit that came down a few weeks ago?

I am in no way coordinated enough to fully / physically appreciate this but this is so cool: @mewefree.bsky.social The world’s first automated double dutch machine, invented by mechanical engineer and Penn State professor Tahira Reid Smith. She first drew it up as a third grader.
The appearance of disabled people at the Met Gala is huge: Aariana Rose Philip on Attending Her Historic First Met Gala: “Girls, I’ve Made It.”

The Bloggess never fails to be hilarious: Actual things that happened on book tour (without even trying, I’m sure)
That double dutch machine is neat! Jump roping was a thing when I was in grade school, but none of the kids did double dutch. I was amazed & impressed when one of the moms on my street came out and did it – I don’t remember who turned the ropes, and as I think about it she was probably in her early 30s!
Yes I loved jumping rope but never learned how to double dutch – that was a level of coordination I could only aspire to 😀
